Hey Casey, we’re all thinking of you over here. Thought you might like to hear about a Tibro clean-up outing we did today.

Remember the green arrows? This time we had pink ones complete with about 15 x 12mm SS truebolts. People were up in arms at the bolting this iconic climb, so we dragged a portable generator up Caves Route, chopped the lot with an angle grinder, and puttied up the holes. I reckon the perpetrator is going to be a bit bemused when he gets back to fit the rest of the hardware!

We had an awesome couple of weeks at Kalymnos in Greece. You can check out our video on line here

Ruth and Ewan sent their best wishes,

    Dave

    Casey,
Aunt Dixie here, I have been catching up with you via your blogs. I am so proud of you. You have a great group of friends, that makes you rich beyond measure.
Hope you had a great Christmas!

Ours was quiet but very relaxing after we got home safe.
Started out in Madison Wisconsin, on Christmas Eve. Lek had a round of Chemo. The 5th round and he is scheduled for 6, so he is almost finished.

The roads were so bad that we went in on the 23rd and stayed the night, so we could be at the VA Hospital by 8:30 am. We went to Mark’s house Christmas day, had roast he prepared in the crock pot. Opened presents, Watched Kung Fu Panda, came home and crashed. Thank God for family. Ang and Mark have made this Christmas easy for me.
Let me know if there is anything we can do to make your fight easier. We have been praying since your Dad told us about your Cancer, and we will continue till you are cancer free.

    Love you Casey.
    Aunt Dixie

Dear Casey, you do not know me, but I’m Dixie and Leks neighbor. You are in my prayers. You sound like an amazing young man with a wonderful support system. I do believe in answered prayers. I will continue to pray for you and the cause. Your Aunt Dixie and Lek are great people too. Take care.

  4. Hi Casey,

I don’t expect you’d remember me but we met on a couple of occasions I’m a friend of Marcy’s. Just want you to know I’m sending out the positive vibes your way and will be pulling for you. You’ve got good friends who all are pushing the cosmos in your direction. Be encouraged by all those that believe in you. Scott

    Hi-
I’m a 31 year old climber from Boulder who was also diagnosed with cancer this last fall (stomach with some spread to the colon). Fortunately my insurance has been covering most of the chemo and other costs. I couldn’t imagine having to deal with the financial hassle on top of the chemo effects, not to mention the shock of the diagnosis itself. Just wanted to send some positive vibes your way from one climber to another. If you feel like chatting with someone in a similar situation feel free to email me at Evan.Sloane@colorado.edu. I can recommend some good climbing literature for those crap chemo days. Stay strong.

We moved across the street from the Kelsos back in 1985. Watched all three children grow up. Heard Monica call for Casey many times, sometimes calling him Casey John…. We knew he was in trouble then. Ha! But one day we saw Casey outside, I think he eight or nine years old, can’t remember. He was “attempting” to ride a bike. Struggling to keep bike from falling over, plus going down hill was a major task at that time. But then when he tried to wave at Corky and me……… we thought for sure he was going down. I remember saying to Cork…… “he better stay off bikes.” Was I ever wrong. Casey, we love you!! You and your family our in our prayers. We think of you every day, and know things will work out for you.

    Love Candy and Corky

    Case,
Eugene visited this weekend from SLC, Utah. We were reminiscing about the ski trip to The Canyons a few years back - thanks to your ingenuity. I think about you often, and I will support the fight.

    Hey you,
I’ve been traveling since Christmas and was in a small, tiny mountain town today that specializes in bike tours in the summer…the really long and difficult rides; I thought of you. It was so nice to see you in at Four Peaks before Christmas, let me know when you’re back in Phoenix.
    I hope you’re feeling well.
    Korrie

Hey, Casey, Josh’s Mom here. Just sending you peaceful thoughts for your recovery. The fund raiser was fun. You have wonderful friends.

    Take care Kate

  10. Hi Casey; my 25 yr. old daughter has LMS of the stomach. After 9 months of gem/tax and radiation, she has been NED for almost 2 years. Though we never can breath easy, we keep a positive outlook on life. If it wasn’t for the support of community, family, friends AND many strangers, we could not have done it. I will make a donation shortly. Every little bit helps…HANG IN THERE and I will keep you in my thoughts. patti

I have not talked to you in a while and I heard what was going on. You always treated me with respect as a person and as a friend and I appreciate that. You are a role model for everyone to shape them selves after. You have always gone beyond the norm when it comes to pushing life to the extreme. Most people never even take the first step to experience what life has to offer. Never quit, never give up, the good parts of life always seem to surprise us when we are not expecting it! You are in my thoughts and in my prayers.

PS, If Armstrong can do it……. You know the rest………..

Just wanted to stop in here and say hi. I know that you are staying strong and will beat this. Miss hanging with you and Fritz down in Az, whether it was at the apt or on the trail. Looking forward to climbing Camelback with you guys again so he can explain his crazy theories about gas. Let me know when you’re going to be in Phoenix again. You are in my prayers bud.

    Hey Casey,

Solange told me what was going on, and I stumbled across this site while searching for the Dawn to Dusk web site. I hope things are continuing to go well with the treatment, and know that I’m sending positive thoughts and good vibes your way!

    Best wishes,
    Cathy

    Hey there Casey -

Thought I’d pop in to say hi and that me and others are hoping things are going well for you. Your name comes up in conversation around the gym regularly and all are keeping tuned in to your progress reports. Take care and keep in touch!

PS - David Dumins and I went out to Queen Creek this weekend and got rained out! How often does THAT happen here? Not too often. We hiked down to Atlantis in the rain, hoping that the east-facing wall would be dry, though to no avail. We had climbed up over the waterway’s concrete pour over and walked along the bed there that is sided with a concrete support wall. Ended up having to dodge bowling ball sized rocks that were barrelling down the slope and over that retaining wall because of the rain! Reminded me of an old video game - pitfall! Anyway - still had fun.

    take care,

    jason

I’m so sorry to hear of your dx. You don’t know me, I’m a fellow LMSr, dx’d with stage IIb retroperitoneal lms in Oct ‘07. Still alive and kicking, and plan to be for a long time.

Anyhow, you’ve gotta fight your insurance company. The pulled this crap with me too. Your life is a numbers game to them. They deny, deny, deny, and hope that you won’t fight it. Thank God I’m stubborn, ,because I finally got them to pay for my surgery at a Sarcoma Center (as opposed to with a vascular surgeon who had seen this disease once in 35 years.)

I highly recommend getting on the LMS discussion group with yahoo: lmsarcoma@yahoogroups.com. You will find great information, and wonderful people who will support you. You paid your premiums, you’re not asking for a hand-out from them, just what you deserve.

It bites that we have to go through the stress of getting our treatment funded, on top of our diagnosis. But you seem like a fighter, judging from your site.

Please go on the group, and the very best of luck to you. You seem to have some awesome friends to help you through this.

    God Bless,
    Jenifer

Hey Caser, I can’t wait until you’re back on your feet, so I can embarass you on the golf course. Just kidding, but rest up, you’ll need it with all the hellraising we’re gonna do!

  28. I have been looking looking around for this kind of information. Will you post some more in future? I’ll be grateful if you will.

  29. Some of us even don’t realize the importance of this information. What a pity.
